Healing the Intestines (GI tract)
When the gut (GastroIntestinal tract) is damaged and inflammed, the walls have minuscule permeations or holes which allow food particles and proteins to "leak" into the blood causing an allergic & inflammatory response, and a variety of symptoms arise including Colitis, Diarrhea, Constipation, Indigestion, Gas, Crohns, and IBS. Other symptoms include fatigue, headache, and body aches.
Having a compromised intestinal track means vitamins and nutrients are poorly absorbed from your food contributing to malnutrition. You MUST target intestinal health first and foremost in any health/nutrition program.
Most important in healing the gut, is to remove the offending foods that are causing the GI to be weakened. Commonly, this includes gluten and any known allergens from your diet. Gluten (found in wheat, grains, bread, pasta, cookies, crackers, etc) and soy are common aggravating factor in leaky gut, as they actually create holes in the gut. Eat rice products instead which can be found in health food stores and online by searching for "Gluten Free" foods. Check our Links for our suggestions.
The supplements below include probiotics, omega 3s, and enzymes which greatly help heal a leaky or damaged gut lining. We highly recommend them! |
